Mitchell, Earl Leslie (Mitch), Saginaw, Michigan. Passed away Monday, November 24, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center Harrison. Age 80 years. The son of the late Earl Leslie and Florence Hoedel Mitchell was born July 26, 1923 in Onaway, Michigan. He married Katherine Gonso December 28, 1950. She survives him. He served with the U.S. Army OSS during World War II in China and India.

He was a graduate of Michigan State University, receiving his Master of Arts Degree. He taught for two years in the Muskegon Schools and 32 years at Arthur Hill High School, retiring in 1985.

He was a charter member of Countryside Trinity Church. He enjoyed collecting rocks and minerals and had helped find the Tri-County Rocks and Mineral Society.

Surviving besides his wife are two children, Marie Mitchell and her husband Duane Essenmacher, Robert Mitchell, all of Saginaw; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Sasha Mitchell. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2003 at Countryside Trinity Church, 4690 Weiss Rd. Rev. Allan Martling will officiate with burial in Swan Creek Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and then at the church from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Countryside Trinity Church or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
