Emerson J. Grossman of Lawrence, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan. Em, age 86, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 29, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born April 12, 1922 in Owasso, MI the son of the late Charles and Ida (Less) Grossman.

Em was a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Master degree in Education and was co-captain of the WMU football team. After graduation in 1949 he was on the U.S. Football traveling team. Em was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy in the Submarine service in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Germaina Country Club in Saginaw, the Paw Paw Elks Lodge # 2511, WMU Alumni Association, Retired Teacher Association, V.F.W. Celery City Post #6248 and the U.S. Navy Submarine Association.

On June 29, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Em was united in marriage to Patricia A. Abrams who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary (Louis) Puckett of Paw Paw and Susan Grossman of Lawrence; three grandchildren, Scott, Cody and Emma Puckett; several nieces and nephews. Em was preceded in death by a brother, Albert and three sisters, Hilda, Elizabeth and Elsie.

Family will receive friends Saturday 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Prospect Lake Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Veterans Park or the American Heart Association.
