Elizabeth "Libby" Kelly   (Kindergarten - South Elementary School  • English - South Intermediate School)
1923 - 2022

Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Wellspring Living Campus – Shattuck Manor. She was 98 years old. Elizabeth Jane Davis was born on August 18, 1923 to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Kirk) Davis. Libby graduated from Saginaw High School. She then graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in 1944. She married Donald L. Kelly on June 23, 1945 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1998. Libby was an English teacher at South Junior High School. She then worked as a Field Placement Coordinator at Saginaw Valley State University. Libby was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved to dedicate herself to the Saginaw Community by volunteering with the Junior League of Saginaw. Libby enjoyed her membership at the Saginaw Country Club. Being with her family brought her great joy; playing Scrabble with her daughter, Kathy, playing Bridge, table tennis and reading.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Steve (Mary) Kelly; son-in-law, Mark Pankonin; grandchildren: Patty Schroeder, Molly Schroeder Saenz, Jenny Schroeder Wanner , Kristy Kelly Korth, Libby Kelly Dill, Stuart Kelly, Mark and Erik Pankonin. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters: Kathy Kelly Schroeder and Patty Kelly Pankonin; sisters: Margaret Davis Barnard and Edith Davis Carbeck; brother, Walter P. Davis Jr.
