Evelyn Vassaw   (Physical Education - South Intermediate School)
1923 - 2005

Miss Evelyn M. Vassaw, beloved daughter, sister and aunt passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005. Age 82 years. The daughter of Alexina (Tickler) Vassaw and the late Edward S. Vassaw, Evelyn was born January 1, 1923 in Stephenson, Michigan. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, Central Michigan University and received her Masters Degree from the University of Michigan. Evelyn taught physical education and served as a counselor at South Intermediate School for 35 years.

She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and her sorority, Alpha Delta Cappa, Alpha Sigma Chapter. Evelyn's greatest legacy is her unconditional love for family and friends. Surviving are her mother, Alexina Vassaw; two sisters, Joyce Nemeskal and Edwina Gerger, both of Saginaw; several loving nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Charles Nemeskal and Joseph Gerger, and by a niece, Jamie Nemeskal.
