Ethelyn Siler   (English - South Intermediate School)

Ethelyn Siler passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Meadowview Manor. She was 96 years old. The daughter of the late Cora (Lampkin) and Foster Hammond was born February 28, 1909 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She married Dr. Delbert E. Siler, November 26, 1932. He passed away April 26, 1961. She was a graduate of Ypsilanti Normal School (now Eastern Michigan University) and taught English at South Intermediate School for about 10 years.

She was a member of First Congregational Church. Surviving are a son, a daughter and their spouses, Dell H. and Lorraine Siler, Crystal Falls, Michigan; Lynn S. and Gerry Garcia, Saginaw, Mich.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lee and Stephanie Siler, Matthew Siler, Marti Siler, Lisa Garcia Herr and her husband Jake, Pete and Heidi Garcia, William and Sandi Garcia; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Siler, Jacob Siler, Austin Herr, Caden Herr, Noah Garcia, Macy Garcia. A brother, Harold Hammond has predeceased her.
