Mark A. Sopcak

Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning July 11, 2015 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper in Saginaw at the age of 57. Mark was born December 18, 1957 in Saginaw to the late John B. Sopcak and Mary S. Cardinal, Mark has resided in this area his whole life. Mark was a member of the Freeland Assembly of God Church in which he was active as a deacon. Mark was a member of the Saginaw Field and Stream Club, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved the Detroit Tigers and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Mark loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He also enjoyed putting together big jigsaw puzzles. Mark was a machine builder/repairman for many years, he also loved to learn, by teaching himself 3-D Cad and tinkering on things.  On September 10, 1977 Mark married Yvonne L. Dowis, she survives him.

Also surviving are his three children; Rhianna Sopcak of Midland, Shanna (Travis) Brack of Holland, MI, Mark D. (Amy) Sopcak of Midland and Ralph (Saskia) Panzer of Germany. Nine grandchildren; Lauren, Barend, Andrew, Juniper, Tiller, Adah, Kalina, Mara and Sophia. His mother; Mary S. Sopcak of Saginaw, brothers and sisters; John Sopcak of Saginaw, David (Carol) Sopcak of Reese, Paul (Marcia) Sopcak of Saginaw, Stephen Sopcak of Mt. Horeb, WI, JulieAnna Sopcak of Saginaw, Matthew (Sarah) Sopcak of Saginaw and Mary Kay (Robert) Schmidt of Saginaw. Also surviving are special friends; Rick (Mary) Short of Freeland, Bruce (Connie) Gutzmann of Midland and Mark (Pat) Houpt of Phoenix, AZ. His father; John B. Sopcak and a niece; Heidi Sopcak have predeceased him.
